Safety Mission Statement

As an employer, we recognize the obligation to ensure the safest possible work place for our employees. Our ultimate goal is to achieve an accident free, loss free environment for all personnel. To help meet these goals, Worthen Industries allocates resources to administer an aggressive loss control program. Program components include a safety committee, written safety policies and procedures, employee training, safety inspections, engineering controls and additional administrative controls.

It is the responsibility of each employee to follow all safety work rules and procedures and to cooperate with and support loss control program activities and objectives. Safe work behaviors and attitudes are an expected part of every employee’s job performance.

Creating An Accident-Free Workplace

As an employer and as a team, our efforts must be directed to ensure that no employee is injured or compromised at any time. Our employees work together to create the safest workplace possible. Together our team has developed and designed workplace safety enhancements to improve the overall well-being of our employees. All employees are also required to participate in comprehensive professional development opportunities to ensure that regulations, safety awareness, and compliance are foremost in their daily activities.

FPW-AWARD

Employee Recognition

The Frederic P. Worthen Award is offered annually in recognition for a Worthen employee that has demonstrated the traits of our father and founder of Worthen Industries, Frederic P. Worthen (1920-1982). His love and concern for people, his desire to create and sustain, and his dedication to what he believed in, left us all better people for having known him. He was very appreciative of every person who worked with him and he saw each of them as being important. Each year, we recognize two employees that embody these traits with a monetary gift and an extra week of vacation.
